Help Wanted: Manga Translator and Raw Cleaner

We’re going to jump in to the world of manga translation and we need your help! Who came up with this bright idea? Our editor who just went to Japan (living the dream, etc.). He saw this manga, liked it and he wants to scanlate it. But we need people who are experts on scanlation.

TITLE: 九月病 上 (Kugatsubyou)

STORY SUMMARY:

“A guy was about to get married, but his wife-to-be eloped with her former lover. Enraged, he got home and screwed her sister, who has a crush on him. Fun ensues.”

LENGTH: Two volumes

We apologize for the delays! Lots of distractions lately — Crime solving, ghost hunting, portal placing, etc. *ahem*

Episode 02 is, well, more on the story and less on the boobies. Technically that’s a good thing. The two things that bothered us are why we unconsciously pronounce “Guiche” as “Douche” and why Saito can’t super jump like his adversaries. Seriously! Why can’t he super jump?!

Regarding the release, we added the opening and the ending theme translations. If you want to read the lyrics in romaji, switch to the no honorifics subtitles track. They may be a bit CPU heavy, so if you’re experiencing slow downs, please turn off the subtitles while viewing the opening or ending themes. And as of the moment, DDL is not available and you’re down with two options — Bittorrent or IRC Bot. Damn you, FS!

Recruiting TLC’er for ZnT F

We’re in need of an experienced TLC’er to help our head TL Uichan translate Zero no Tsukaima F. Our previous TLC’er GOTT has decided to shave his head and meditate in the mountains to further improve his Japanese. Fortunately he’s still around via mental telepathy to help us finish Working’!!. However, mental telepathy is very hard to do and can severely damage your mind, so we need another TLC’er.

Requirements? Good at writing and speaking Japanese, has experience  in fansubbing, and can do their job in a speedy manner. You will be working with the TL in real time, so that way you can communicate easily with him, and meet the rest of the team.

Zero no Tsukaima F 01 is OUT!!!

Here is our proper fansub release of Zero no Tsukaima F episode 01! And our first show of 2012! Yay! Half the credit goes to JC Subs for helping us with the the project. Visit their site and say thanks!

Zero no Tsukaima F is the continuation of Zero no Tsukaima: Princess no Rondo and ZnT F is going to conclude everything. I hope it does. Personally, we’re just happy to see these characters again. Yes, Siesta included.

Before we get to the main course, the script in this release is 100x better than our speed sub version. Everything is TLC’d, edited, and with proper typesetting. You will no longer see chapter markers, heart icons, and visible translator and editor notes. Oh yes! This is a dual subtitle release. The first track (default) will contain no honorifics and the second track will have them. Aside from the honorifics, the second track will have the romaji version of the lyrics and the title (ex. The Familiar of Zero and Zero no Tsukaima). Unfortunately we didn’t include the opening theme translation, but we assure you we’ll include it in the second episode along with the ending theme.

Here is the unedited and un-TLC’d version of our Zero no Tsukaima F episode 01 subtitles. Now don’t be discouraged, the script is very readable. Think of it as a speed-sub version of our subs. The final version will be available soon. “Soon” as in “a day or two” and not “9 months later”. By the way, the link below downloads the script. You have to hunt down the raws yourselves.

December 2011 Poll: Is the Morita-san wa Mukuchi anime a yuri harem anime? 92 voters agree that Morita-san wa Mukuchi is a yuri harem anime, 45 voters disagree that it’s not a yuri harem anime, and 60 voters weren’t sure. So, yeah… Majority of the folks who voted agree, so… YAY! Yuri triumphs again!

Morita-san wa Mukuchi S2 episode 13 is OUT!!!

This is our first release of 2012 and sadly, this is the last episode of Morita-san. Morita-san wa Mukuchi 2 was a fun short ride and watching these cute girls doing cute things really warms your heart. It’s one of the strengths of Slice of Life shows — You don’t need a convoluted story to get you interested or explosions to get you excited. You watch these people interact. It’s just like… uh… *ahem* you’re like Big Brother watching over the housemates and… Okay that was a bad metaphor… *ahem*

Anyways! Morita-san is short, sweet, cute, and heart-warming. We enjoyed fansubbing it and we hope we didn’t disappoint and ruin the experience with our subtitles!

Terraria Adventure – December 2011

Happy New Year, folks! 2011 was, in our humblest opinion, one of the best year for anime fans. There are lots of good shows we enjoyed and loved, and I hope 2012 will deliver better and bigger anime than 2011! Now, we, uh… we’ll just skip writing sentimental stuff and head on to our Terraria adventure!

MikiMiki finally got a new computer, set up our dedicated server, and played Terraria with SHiN and Uichan for a few hours. We started a new map, but decided to keep our end-game equipment. We started by building our homes first to shelter ourselves from the hazards. Pardon the JPEG artifacts. Steam is… not as good as FRAPS when it comes to screencapping.

This is my (SHiN) home. It’s still bare bones and I’m planning to make a cabin-like home complete with bedroom, library, kitchen, etc. Unfortunately you can’t craft a kitchen sink in Terraria. Not just yet.

This is Uichan’s home. It rests above the sands. Don’t worry. Its foundation is solid. I mean, using two pillars made of dirt and is standing on loose sand can’t possibly… Uh, oh…

This is MikiMiki’s ho–cave. As you can see it’s a… cave… Sure he’s still stuck in the stone age, and all… It’s a cave!

After securing our land, I proceeded to scout the entire surface area and to my shock, we’re closely sandwiched between two Corruptions. We gotta fortify our land first before going into hard mode. I also spotted the Dungeon and called the guys to come over and defeat Skeletron. Unfortunately… he died in less than 30 seconds. =) With Skeletron out of the way, we then descended into the Dungeon and looted some of its treasures. We then rescued an NPC called the Mechanic. She’s a red head carrying a giant wrench. She sells switches, wiring and other tools needed to make traps etc.

Seriously, he’s dying. He took a poison arrow in the knee. You can tell by his reply. His mouth is shriveled up due to the poison.

And that’s it for our Terraria Adventure! Tune in next month for another SHiN-gx Fansubs’ heroic and dungeon-looting tales! Er… wait, before I forget, I encountered a strange anomaly  because of lag. See screenshots below.

Bizarre! It looks like God took a huge bite out off the land.

Fanartist needed for our Drama CD Project

We’re (still) translating possible six drama CDs and we need a fanartist to draw scenes for us. You’re not really required to draw them in great detail. Sketches are fine for as long as the characters, backgrounds are easily recognizable. We’re not sure how many panels you’re going to draw per drama CD, but the possibility of drawing a lot is very high.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A fan of Yuru Yuri
• Draw using a graphics tablet only
• Experienced
• Dedicated

Yep, that’s right! Next year we’re gonna shoot ourselves in the fo–*ahem* we’re gonna fansub Zero no Tsukaima F! We’ll be teaming up with JC Subs and with their help, we can release the subs a few minutes faster. JC Subs are new and don’t confuse them to J.C. Staff. JC stands for Jesus Christ and surprise, their debut fansub release is today, December 25! Fansubbing this should be fun and who knows, our inner sadist/masochist will show up and influence the translations.

Nah, just kidding.

Zero no Tsukaima F or Zero no Abusive Relationship Four is the series’ finale, closure, or to put it simply “it’s about damn time it’s ending.” Will the story finally be put to an end? Not sure. I hope. Will Louise gag Saito and whips him until he faints? YES!

Now, we didn’t neglect Working’!! and in fact episode 4 is already in the hands of our TLC’er, and we’re almost done timing episode 5 script. You’ll get them. Soon. :3
