FAQs
Q: Why is the group called “SHiN-gx”?
A: Name was taken from the two founders of the group, SHiN_aKuMa and gx9901.
Q: Who are the staff members?
A: See the Staff page.
Q: May I join your group as Editor, Timer, Typesetter, Encoder, etc.?
A: No unless we really need one. If you’re a translator, well, basically, you’re hired!
Q: May I request you to fansub <insert anime>?
A: No. We are not taking requests.
Q: <insert anime> episode <insert episode number> when?
A: We release when it’s ready.
Q: Why are you so slow?
A: Because we have a lif-LOL! Because we have better things to do. Believe me, there are tons of things that are far better than fansubbing.
Q: Why can’t you be faster like any other group?
A: We can’t, we don’t want to and rushing things will screw it up.
Q: <insert anime> has been subbed by 2-3 groups, why are you still subbing the show?
A: Because we want to. We love the show and we don’t care if it’s over-subbed or not.
Q: We’re from <insert group> and we like to have a joint with you. How do we apply?
A: Contact any OP from the IRC or email your proposal. If you’re from a newbie group and wants to be recognized by the community by jointing with a familiar group (in this case, us), you’d better be off subbing the show yourselves (honestly, it’s your first series!) or joint with other groups because, frankly speaking, we’re not popular.
If you don’t care what I said above or you’re from an experienced group and still to have a joint project with us, there are some conditions to follow:
We translate by the book: We don’t use honorifics or any form Japanese gratification and click HERE.
Q: We’re from a non-English group and we want to use your subtitles, is it okay?
A: Yes. You can use our subs on one condition: “Don’t claim the subtitles as your own.” We don’t care if you credit us or not.
Q: Uncensored version where?
A: Ask the companies that made the anime.
Q: Why are you removing the Japanese honorifics off your translations?
A: Because we’re doing English translations. Japanese honorifics are certainly not in English.
Q: I can’t play your MKV files or aren’t playing properly (no subs, choppy playback, etc.)! How do I fix it?
A: See the How to Play Anime page.
Q: Some of your DDL links are broken! Why is that?
A: What we’re doing is illegal and the links being dead are to be expected. We are constantly updating our DDLs and it may take a while so please be patient and check out our Direct Downloads page for updates.
Q: Is there a female member in your group?
A: See: HERE.
