Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 12 (END) is OUT!!!

September 29, 2012

Encore! Encore! Encore!

We’re finally done and boy that was a very exhausting season!

Episode 12 pokes fun at one of the most loved fairly tales out there and showed us one last Akarin Paradox. It’s so confusing, Stephen Hawking can’t even figure it out. And, uh… We can’t believe this is the last episode… Season 3, when? WHEN?! ;_;

Please enjoy this episode, folks! Oh and thank you for following this anime using our fansub version. We really do apologize for the honest mistakes we made and we assure they will be fixed in the batch torrents.

Pacchin — a word meaning “slingshot”. Yui is referring to the way the toy shoots upward, but it is clearly not a slingshot.

Popping Eyes (Poppin Ai) — a toy which was popular amongst Japanese children in the 1980s. It is made out of an elastic material, which, when pressed against a hard surface, will return to its original form. This produces a force which propels it upward, sometimes quite high into the air.

Cat’s Cradle — a game played between two people with string. The objective is to make several figures out of the string, including the titular Cat’s Cradle. It is a prevalent game originating in some form or another across numerous cultures around the world – one of which being Japan.

Kendama — a toy of Japanese origin which consists of a ball connected via string to a wooden piece of sorts (a spike with a cup on either side). The objective is to try and land the ball (with a hollow in the middle) onto one of either the spike, or two cups. There are more advanced ways of playing as well.

Beigoma — a traditional spinning top in Japan, which may have its origins in China. Interestingly, the “bey” in “Beyblade” is admittedly derived from “beigoma”. A big difference being that instead of a rip chord and launcher, beigoma are spun using a chord wrapped directly around them.

Ohajiki — a Japanese equivalent of glass marbles. The only real difference is that they are slightly more flat.

Menko — a Japanese card game popularized during the Edo period. It involves smacking down cards, which may be more entertaining than playing poker…

Taketonbo — originating from China, it is a toy bamboo propeller which, when spun from a person’s hands, flies into the air and gradually comes back down.

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 11 is OUT!!!

September 21, 2012

Yep, we’re back to our usual selves again… But we’re one episode left! I think that’s still a good thing.

Episode 11 is, as one would expect, is similar (somewhat) to sesaon 1’s episode 11 and dare I say it’s one of the best episode in season 2. The main focus is Akari is trying to get back what was lost to her and like any similar endeavor in anime, she’ll encounter lots of roadblocks along the way. Will Akari get back what she lost? Will she able steal plutonium from Libyan terrorists or generate 1.21 jigowatts of electricity or just hijack a train?

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 10 is OUT!!!

September 13, 2012

TL Note: Hover your mouse over the picture.

As you may have noticed, we’re starting to slow down at releasing episodes and we’re guessing this will go until until the end of the series. That is not to say we’re being lazy or anything, it’s just, uh, part of the reason is some of us are pretty exhausted. Releasing an episode two weeks later is the last thing we’re gonna do!

Anyways!

Episode 10 is pretty much “paradoxical” because it pokes fun at one of the manga series’s gag. This post could have been longer like putting Akari in Stephen Hawking’s chair and sound device, and make a silly twisted of his Information Paradox, but… We admit we’re not creative enough to make it. Special thanks to Chitose for making an encode for us. :3

TL;DR

More Hima x Saku goodness.

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 09 is OUT!!!

September 2, 2012

See? We’re not Anti-Yui in any way! And we’re no longer an episode behind! Told you we’ll release episode nine this week. *ahem*

Just in case you haven’t noticed, a certain big sister makes appearances at every odd-numbered episode. What episode are we now? Yes, it’s an odd-numbered episode! Prepare for another gnarly episode! (“awesome” is too mainstream nowadays).

20:12:24 — To clear up confusion, Sakurako refers to the ground meat as fried meat because she is oblivious to the difference. They want to show her lack of knowledge about any sort of food preparation past the instant kind. This is why Yui wonders if she’s only acting dumb.

21:08:89 — The name “木耳(kikurage)” is made up of two kanji. The first is “ki” meaning “tree”. The second is “mimi” meaning “ear”. The pun arises from the fact that “kurage” is a word meaning “jellyfish” while also being an alternative reading for the kanji 耳 (the reading used in the name of those mushrooms).

August 30, 2012

Whoa! We do apologize for the very huge delay, folks. This is one of those instances we ran out of steam and it took us a while to get our engines chugging again. We’re now back and running… sorta! Expect episode nine to be released very soon!

Good news to all Chinatsu fans: A good chunk of episode 08 is dedicated to our lovely pink-haired princess! Yes, Chinatsu finally got her very own episode, and it is G-L-O-R-I-O-U-S! Seriously, we even got a new and enchanting ending theme to compliment Chinatsu’s charm! Yeah, really! *ahem* I’m getting excited here… On to the links!

23:50:00 — In Japanese, the terms “carnivore” and “herbivore” have the additional meanings of “aggressive” and “passive” respectively. This is similar to English, where these words have the same connotations, but is more pronounced in Japanese discourse. Regardless, you can probably tell why Chinatsu would be called a “carnivore” in the first place. :3

SPECIAL THANKS:

I, SHiN, would like to personally thank AS2023 for donating his TF2 items (vintage weapons and hats). It’s not related to the release, but I really do appreciate all the items he has given me. More weapons for me! Yay… And now I need to expand my backpack…

Blood Types Personality and Compatibility

August 17, 2012

In the Land of the Rising Sun, blood types have their personality profile and today, they are often used to describe a character’s personality and compatibility with each other through their blood types. As far as I’m concerned personality/compatibility reading through blood types is popular around Asia.

Not to make this article really long, read this. Done reading? Here we go!

A is most compatible with A and AB.
B is most compatible with B and AB.
AB is most compatible with AB, B, A, and O.
O is most compatible with O and AB.

Guess what blood type is Ayano and who is the most compatible girl for her? Yep, she’s an AB and she goes very well with everyone, really. Including TOSHINOU KYOUKO. What about Yui? Well, she’s not compatible with type Bs (lol) and is most compatible with a fellow type O, and an AB like Ayano.

Yui Status:

[x] TOLD
[ ] NOT TOLD

HAHA! LET THE AWKWARDNESS BEGIN!

What happened?

August 17, 2012

I do admit I’m not an avid follower of the manga, so I might have missed something important and, if ever, they will only be vaguely mentioned in the anime. I do read the manga… by random chapters.

Anyway, in this scene, Chitose claimed Ayano is “a little shy” and “she usually sits alone at her desk” on their first year. This is very surprising because, in their second year, Ayano is very vocal during her student council activities, and doesn’t even shy away from yelling in a crowded hallway.

What happened? I’ll make a wild guess — TOSHINOU KYOUKO happened. Something happened during Ayano’s first year and Kyouko was the catalyst that influenced Ayano’s shift from a shy girl to a vocal school representative. I do hope this is covered in the manga or at the very least show the back story between the two in the anime.

The sarcasm detectors are seem to be broken in the previous blog post. I should have been subtle.

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 07 is OUT!!!

August 17, 2012

Seriously, what’s up with groups and bloggers posting spoiler screenshots in their release posts and blog posts? It ruins the surprise and literally ruin whatever goodies the episode is going to offer. I saw a few blogs posting screenshots of one particular Yuru Yuri character making an appearance on an episode and ruined the surprise to people who have yet to watch it. But what the hell! If you want to spoil people, then go ahead! We can do it, too!

Here’s one comment from our fansub team who genuinely didn’t see it coming — {o m g… this girl needs serious help}.

On to the release!

Yep, we’re back to our three-day release schedule and it was a good thing too because episode seven has got to be one of the best episodes in Yuru Yuri to date! Really! Let’s not wait any further!

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 06 is OUT!!!

August 12, 2012

[ ] Fully clothed Rivalun
[ ] Half-naked Rivalun

Pardon us for being late again! It won’t happen again because next week’s episode is gonna be DAMN GOOD! It’s foolhardy to delay one of the most anticipated episode this season. Let’s just hope Japan stops with the teasing of Akane. I mean, come on, Japan! Yuru Yuri is half-way finished! Give us Akane! *ahem* Why Akane? Because, well, she’s a, you know, Akari’s big sister!

Have fun, folks!

Yuru Yuri S2 Episode 05 is OUT!!!

August 4, 2012

In this episode, we find out that Akari is actually a ghost and is haunting the town, in particular, the school. Everyone realizes that they haven’t seen Akari in a few days and start looking for her everywhere. At first, the search turns up nothing, but a few more hours in, Chitose feels something tingling her back and screams, to which everyone runs to her general direction. But when they all manage to get there… She’s missing…

At first, everyone is shocked and assumes that she was kidnapped, but after a few days, the search for her goes cold, and they assume the worst. They resume the search for Akari, and Yui thinks of asking the security personnel at the school. After walking to the school, they find the guard and ask if she has seen Akari and if they can see some security footage of when they were playing on the school grounds a few days prior. She hesitantly agrees to show them the footage and escorts them to the security room. After a few minutes of scrolling through the footage, they find the clip they were looking for… but to everyone’s surprise, Akari is nowhere to be found in the footage.

They decide to stay around the school after dark to see if Akari is on the school grounds, and they split up. Kyouko and Ayano check the first floor, Yui and Chinatsu check the second floor, and Sakurako and Himawari check the third floor. After about 10 minutes, there’s a loud bang, followed by a deafening scream echoing throughout the school. Another 10 minutes pass by when another bang and scream are heard. It seems that everyone decided to regroup after this, but when it looks like everyone has gathered, they realize Himawari and Sakurako have gone missing. So the girls go to the third floor to find them and maybe even find clues as to where Akari might be.

After looking around frantically, the search turns up nothing, and so the girls make the trek back down, but when Yui looks around, Kyouko and Ayano are nowhere to be seen. Assuming they just got sidetracked, Yui and Chinatsu turn around to look for them.

They reach the end to find no one was there. Yui yells for Kyouko to stop playing with them, but there’s no response. As Yui turns towards Chinatsu, she hears a door close. It’s close by, so she thinks it’s Kyouko. She runs towards the door, forgetting about Chinatsu. When she reaches the door, she realizes that she had left Chinatsu alone, but opens the door anyway, only to find no one. After rushing back to where she had last seen Chinatsu, she finds only her shoes and a trail of red liquid.

She follows the trail around the school and finds that it ends at the gym storage room with a little bit of light shining through the door. She tries to open it, but to no avail. Being this close to what might be a clue about everyone’s whereabouts, she keeps trying. Since it’s already very late, she wants to find out quickly. She keeps at it and eventually the door cracks open. After about 20 minutes of effort, she opens the door and finds Akari, Chitose, Sakurako, Himawari, Kyouko, Ayano, and Chinatsu all just sitting around eating food and drinking. Akari turned out to be a ghost that didn’t actually want to haunt anyone anymore.
